To ask and give information about what kind of sports one can do 2. To understand dialogue about sports 3. To process information of sports in the listening Knowledge aim: 1. To know the usage of “can” 2. Understand and speak out key words: can, basketball, piano, table tennis , tennis, ride, horse, welcome, international 3. Key structure: I can … I can’t… Can you … Yes, I can.No, I can’t 4.Key points: Knowledge aim Ability aim. 5.Activity conception: Group-works. The analysis of the Ss. They have learnt some words about sports and they are interested in sports.They can great fun of English studying. Teaching aids: CAI, a tape recorder. Teaching steps: Step1. Warming-up Play the song about the Olympic Games (Let Ss get fun from English studying) Step2.Presentation Vocabulary 1. Show the pictures about Olympic Games. Question: what’s your favorite sport? 2. Show the picture of a basketball, teach it and then make phrases (the other words about sports can use the same way) 3. Match the words with the pictures.(activity1) A. Ask the Ss to read the question, and then do it by themselves. B.Check the answers. C. Read the phrase. Structures Point to the picture and say “My favorite sport is riding a horse .I can ride a horse.” repeat“I can ride a horse.” 2. Practice Guide the Ss to use the structure to make sentences. (I can’t … I can’t… can use the same way) 3. To take out of the table tennis and play it, then ask the Ss “can you play table tennis?” Guide them answer “yes, I can. No, I can’t.” 4.
