舟山位于浙江省舟山群岛，地处，海域面积2.08万平方公里，陆域面积1440平方公里，共有大小岛屿1390个，深水岸线资源极为丰富，可建10-25万吨级以上泊位岸线103公里，世界罕见。2009年《中国（浙江）城市竞争力报告》显示：浙江省11个城市中，舟山综合增长竞争力和发展成本竞争力位居第一，宁波-舟山港在2008港口综合竞争力排行榜中位列榜首。 舟山作为全国海洋经济比重最高的唯一地级海岛城市，依托世界四大渔场之一的舟山渔场和世界三大渔港之一的沈家门渔港，拥有较为发达的水产品捕捞、养殖和加工产业，是国内最大的海水产品生产、加工和销售基地。目前全市拥有水产加工企业400余家，其中规模以上企业114家，年加工能力100万吨。2008年水产品加工产值151.91亿元，精深加工产值占总产值的46%。优质的天然水产资源和先进的水产加工技术及质量管理体系，使舟山水产品出口规模持续扩大，骨干出口企业逐年增多，国际影响力不断提升，产品畅销100多个国家和地区。2008年，全市有出口实绩的水产企业297家，累计出口9.77亿美元。彰显着水产品加工及出口贸易领域的巨大空间和潜力。Zhoushan, located in Zhoushan Islands of Zhejiang Province, is in Chinas southeast coast, south of the Yangtze River estuary and on the East Sea outer edge of Hangzhou Bay. Zhoushan has as many as 1390 islands with an ocean area of 2, 0800 square kilometers and a land area of 1440 square kilometers.
