Methods Based on the practical situation for clinical laboratory medicine, the assessment model for clinical skills w as explored; the aim of assessment and basic demand w as w orked out; and the assessment and evaluation system for clinical skill in clin-i cal laboratory medicine was established and applied to teaching practice. Resul ts T he system w as fit for appraisal for clinical skills in clinical laboratory medicine. Students w ho w ere trained by the system got higher marks, both in technic ability and clinical practice, than those w ho w ere not trained by the system; the difference was significant ( F = 5. 83- 12. 347, q = 11. 901- 18. 73 , P 0. 01) .
