Cycle Issues in the TP+ Area 14 October 2010 Bicycle User Group Meeting Issue #1:Confusion regarding access to King’s Hedges Rd from the SP gate via the Guided Busway Response: Once the Guided Busway is fully built and the cycle path paved, gaining access to King’s Hedges Road will be easier and more straightforward Issues #2: Back gate to SP are closed during nights and weekends Response: Due to security and requests from companies on the area, this gate has to be closed at nights and weekends. Issue #3: There are a lot of potholes and broken glass For potholes, please report them to Cambridgeshire Highways at 0345 0455 212 or online at .uk/forms/highway_defect.htm. For broken glass, please call either Cambridge City Council at 01223 458 282 or S Cambridge District Council at 01954 212024 Issue #4: People may not want to cycle because of punctures or break down The Environmental Transport Association provides roadside pick-up for bikes. Please visit www.eta.co.uk or attend the TP+ bike maintenance courses in November Issue #5: Why isn’t the kerb lowered near the overflow car park leading from the Milton Road gate cycle entrance Response: The requested site for the lowered kerb is adjacent to where cars exit the car park. A barrier and detour was put into place to prevent accidental collision Issue #6: Kerbs and Shrubs are too high Response: please inform TP+ of the exact location and the information will be reported to Bidwells for possible action Issue #7: Phasing of traffic lights to Milton road Response: The detector loops for the right turn lane will be re-cut and extended to the red, cyclist designated section of the lane. Any other issues, please call CCC 0800 253 529 Issue #8: Cobble stones on entrance to raised traffic calming area near RSC are uncomfortable Response: Bidwells has been informed of this uncomfortable section of the road.
