To provide an understanding of how to administer and score the CTOPP. To provide an understanding of how to interpret the CTOPP results. Why Assess?(Screen, Monitor Progress, Diagnose) Assessments should drive our instruction. Assessment is not an intervention, but may assist in determining appropriate instruction/intervention. Tests do not diagnose- People diagnose. Test results are always considered in conjunction with other variables. WHAT IS YOUR QUESTION? Why are you assessing? What is the question that you are going to answer through your assessment? This helps to determine the type of assessments that you will give. More time for instruction, less time for testing. Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing (CTOPP) Phonological Awareness Phonological Memory Fluency/Rapid Automatic Naming Phonological Awareness – an individual’s awareness of and access to the sound structure of his or her oral language. CTOPP Test Administration 1:1 Ages: 5-adult version 1 – 5-6 years old Version 2 – 7-24 years Time: 15-45 minutes CTOPP Subtests and Composites for 5-6 Year Olds Composites Core Subtests PA PM RN I.
