AbstractThe thesis will focus on studying the current situation of import material management with the 3rd party logistics thinking, subject to the JIT requirement and base on the automotive industry.The thesis raises the conclusion that 3rd party logistics will get great developing chance subject to the analysis of current import material management. The thesis analyses the characters of JIT production, and make a study on the advantages and disadvantages of managing the import material by 3rd party logistics way. The major advantages are decreasing the cost and creating cross value for the enterprise. The thesis introduces the main techniques in the actual logistics management as follows: Platform for import purchasing, Milk Run for the pick up, Logistics IT control and Package techniques.At the end, the thesis analyses the trend and obstacle of 3rd party logistics in theautomotive industry, and put forward the possible solution.
