ABSTRACTWith the rapid development of the optical transmission network, the capacity of network increases continually. The fault protection and fault recovery ability of the transmission network become key functions. While the protection operation of optical switch on optical layer Plays an important role in the transmission network. Therefore, the design and development of 1:8-optical switch used in network protection are started.Based on the application of 1:8-optical switch, the optical path , the shell encapsulation, the internal structure, and technological process of the switch are designed in this thesis. The optical path structure of the switch is realized by using the way of free space. The structure makes design of the light path more flexible, switch structure more simple, smaller crosstalk between channels, volume more compact. When parameters of optical device are designed, the influence of the parameters on properties of the switch is analysed in detail.Sealed packaging ensure the wet resistance of the switch. Among them between shell and plate, parallel sealing way of packaging, A kind of resistance welding is used. With the way of welding , good sealing performance between the shell and plate can be got through setting reasonable welding parameters. When the shell assembly structure is designed, the standardization of assembly process and the production cost are considered. The precision template and auxiliary equipment designed is used for assembly process. The design analysis of the influence of the production cost have be embodied in this paper some locationThe production process of optical switch is designed, and the key process is stated in detail.
