Presentation for The King’s Speech Hello, everyone, my name is XXX. Today, I’d like to share a movie with you. As you see on the screen, the movie’s name is “The king’s speech”. May some of you have seen it before. While I watched it because of my English teacher’s introduction when I am a senior high student. As this film won 4 awards from Oscar, including best film, best director, best actor and best original screenplay. In addition, it gets nominations in seven categories. And here, I’m gonna tell the main story on the whole. Our leading character, the king George VI, who caught a serious stammer when he is just a child. Because of stuttering, when he was a prince, he cant even tell a story for his dear little daughters completely. Also, of cause, It’s too difficult for him to speak in public occasions. In spite of these, ironically, King Edward Ⅷ, who is George VIs older brother, give up his throne for love. No matter how reluctant George Ⅵ are to the kings throne, he became the king for his people. Though George VI wants to overcome the stuttering, he didnt know how to get it. Fortunately, his wife Elizabeth who loved him very much, helped him find an unusual speech therapist called Lionel for him. Then with a series of interesting but efficient treatment and training, the king’s stuttering was cured. Though there’re quarrels, but the king and Lionel are still together. In the end, King George VI gave the famous Christmas speech successfully and huge inspired British people at that hard war time. YES, he made it, he became a great orator with the help of the Lionel , and thanks to the cooperation, they become a lifetime of friends. So maybe you have difficulties in saying English, this film tells us it’s always difficult when it begins, but once you take the hardest move bravely, you can be the“ King” of yourself.
