威廉·华根菲尔德Wilhelm?Wagenfeld （1900-1990） ; As one of the most famous German designer involved in mass production, Wilhelm Wagenfeld made the potential of industrial design in more specialized production system played further.; Wilhelm Wagenfeld was born in Bremen, Germany. In his early year, he worked in silver factory and received art education. In 1923, he began to teach at the Bauhaus.; Wilhelm Wagenfeld opposed to self-centered concept in design. He pointed out that industrial design is a collaborative activity, which has nothing in common with the artists work. He denied that the function is a decisive factor of the form that function is not the ultimate purpose, but a prerequisite for good design. ; Wilhelm Wagenfeld studied metalwork at the Bauhaus between 1923 and 1925, where he designed the famous chrome steel tube desk lamp, which people called “Bauhaus Lamp”, and so far there is still in production.; From 1931 to 1935, he was appointed as a professor of the National Academy of Arts in Berlin. After leaving the Bauhaus, he went on to design a number of popular consumer products, among the most successful of which was Kubus, the modular glass storage containers he created in 1935.; Made of heat-resistant industrial glass, Kubus is designed for maximum flexibility of use and ease of storage. Consisting of seven separate, stackable units of variable sizes and interchangeable lids, the Kubus containers were created for use in the refrigerator and pantry, or on the kitchen table. ; In this modular system, the containers can be used either together as a unit or individually as needed. Wagenfelds Kubus system, which was mass produced and widely available, exemplifies the Bauhaus commitment to industrial production of well-designed standardized forms at affordable prices.;THE END THANK YOU!
