ABSTRACTNow all kinds of modern furniture have been important elements in the creation of modern architecture and interior space. Hereinto, China has been the greatest country of manufacturing and exporting furniture all over the world. But because of many reasons, our furniture industry is in the situation of plagiarizing and copying developed countries at all time. The level of furniture design is deficient as a whole. It obstructs the development of space and interior design at a certain extent. Besides, there is always a detached situation between our furniture design industry and architecture and interior design, and the furniture design education is also divorced from the system of architecture and interior design. But according to the development course of international modern design and the mature industry and education mode of the Occident, the mutual development of furniture, architecture and interior design is an effective way to promote them together. Because of the inherent mutual relation between furniture and architecture space, the architecture needs excellent furniture to perfect space, and the furniture design also needs the influence of space environment. Hence, author expounds the mutual relation between furniture and architecture space design from the viewpoint of space relationship, makes it be a clue of contacting our furniture design with architecture and interior design field to change the close situation of our furniture design, and also provides an academic reference for domestic education reformists.The paper firstly demonstrates that modern architecture has an effect on furniture design.
