LOGIC MODELS • Logic models are tables that allow us to represent a lot of information about a program we are developing in a small amount of space. 1 • Logic models are useful when we have a vision for a program and we want to outline some key features of the program 2 • Logic models are also useful when we want to help another person see our “vision” for a program. • So if we work in a nonprofit and are proposing an innovative program (if we are being a social entrepreneur), a logic model could be very useful. 3 LET’S LOOK AT THE LOGIC MODEL TABLE FORMAT (go to blank form) 4 INPUTS • Inputs are resources provided by the agency in charge of the project. • These resources are for the purpose of making the project a success. 5 EXAMPLES OF INPUTS Inputs are such resources as - money - equipment - supplies - staff and staff time - volunteers and volunteer time 6 • Statements that identify the most important resources the agency will provide are placed in the column headed “Inputs”. 7 SAMPLE PROJECT TOPIC Let’s work with a sample project devoted to trying to assist women who have been abused by a spouse or partner in the home to end the abuse.
