Chi na Uni ve rs i ty of Geosciences , B eij i ng 100083 , Chi na) Abstract : China National Oil Ga s Exploration and Develop ment Corporation (CN ODC) , CN PC , farmed in four block s in Myanmar in 200 1 and 2002 . They are sit uat ed in cent ral Myanmar wit h a tot al area of 3514 km2 . Due to t he low exploration degree and high exploration ri sk in t hese block s , it i s necessary t hat t he synt hetic analy ses of p et roleum geolo gy and resource pot ential be done a s soon as po ssible . Twelve oil samp les are picked up f rom different block s and formation s and t he oiloil correlation i s carried out by biomarker analyses. Based on t he oiloil correlation by biomarker differences in different oil s , t hree oil families in t he Salin Basin are identified , and t he st udied areas are divided into t hree po ssible p et roleum syst em s. The biomarker lup anes and bicadinanes have al so been det ect ed f rom all oil samples , suggesting t hese oil s should be sourced f rom t he L at e Cret aceou s or Tertiary t errest rial source rock s.
