Abstract Taking the present trend of economic globalization, African countries speed up their regional economic integration process in order to avoid the situation to be marginalized. Signed by the African leaders in 2001, The New Economic Partnership for Africa’s Development showed the resolution of the African people to revive Africa, increased the speed of economic development. Besides the African Union, the Southern African Development Community, the Economic Community of West African States, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, the Economic Community of Central African States, and many other African regional organizations are promoting the regional integration substantially. After entering into the new century, the African regional integration has made great progress. Reducing the tariff largely, removing the trade barriers gradually, coordinating the economic and monetary policies, all African regional organizations are striving towards the Free Trade Agreement, Customs Union, Common Market, Economic Union, and even Political Union. Unlike others, Africa’s regional integration focuses more on the development of infrastructure, the readjustment of industrial structures and the improvement of the investment environment. Meanwhile, Africa pays more attention to the relationships with the other continents, to appeal more aids， more investment, and Debt Relief，strengthen the cooperation with other countries, and finally make a sustainable development. Contraposing to the opinions that regional economic integration between developing countries could hardly reach success，this thesis first studied the steadily rising of the African economy, then researched the status, features and tendency of the African economic integration. The author holds the opinion that the African regional economic integration has made a great progress drawing a worldwide attention, and Africa shall be able to overcome 4 the shortcomings and difficulties through collaborating wit
