The focus of today’s presentation is ISF. Now, we will go into more details on what exactly around “cloud” do we do. * * These are the layers for IaaS, starting from the hardware, up to the VM managers and provisioning tools, and the 3 layers in the middle, with the application workloads on top. I then explain the middle layers. For the allocation engine, I typically mention that a lot of people miss this layer, but this the really the key in ensuring the shared infrastructure is efficient, and delivering “economic” value, and align with business priorities. The purpose of this slide is to position ISF in the stack, and make it clear that we are NOT a virtualization vendor, we are NOT provisioning tool, that we are complementary to them. * This is just a slide to show the overall concept of sharing, and to re-emphasize our workload/resource-aware differentiations, and the broad set of application workloads that we (will) support.
