AbstractEconomicdiplomacyhasapivotalpositioninJapanspost-warforeignaffairs.JapanisthefirstcountrytointroduceeconomicdiplomaticpolicyaftertheWorldWarII,andJapan’seconomicdiplomacypromotestherapiddevelopmentofitspost-wareconomy.EconomicdiplomacyhasplayedanimportantroleinJapan’seconomicriseprocess.AfterJapansdefeat,theeconomyisinastateofcollapse.JapansdiplomaticactivitiesarelimitedbecauseofitsoccupationintheU.S.Inordertoovercometheeconomiccrisis,reviveitseconomy,Japanhastoputtheeconomicproblemspriorytosolveinthelimiteddiplomaticactivities,whichhelpstobringaboutthepracticeofeconomicdiplomacy.U.SputtherestrictionsonJapanspost-wardevelopmentdirection,whichmakesJapanlostthespaceofmilitarydiplomacy,thesmallspaceofpoliticaldiplomacytomaneuver,inturn,theenvironmentofeconomicdiplomacyisrelativelyloose.Inthepost-war,internationaleconomicdevelopmentistowardsthedirectionoftheinterdependent,whichpromotesthedevelopmentofJapanseconomicdiplomacy.Afterthewar,Japanhasreopenedtheforeigneconomicrelationsatfirstthroughtheeconomicdiplomacy,openedthetraderelationswithSoutheast-Asiancountriesandjoinedthegeneralagreementontariffsandtradeaswellastheinternationalmonetaryfundandotherinternationaleconomicorganizations.Onthisbasis,Japancontinuestopromotetheeconomicdiplomacy,developeconomicrelationswiththeothercountries,andbuildupawiderangeofeconomicrelationshipwiththeothers.EconomicdiplomacycreatesafavorableexternalenvironmentandbroadspaceforJapanseconomicdevelopmentinthepost-war,itnotonlyattaintherawmaterialandenergyforindustrialproduct,alsosolvemarketsproblemsabouttheexportofgoodsandcapital.Whileiteffectivelysolvesallkindsofinternationaleconomicfrictionanddisputes,aswellasithasintroducedtheadvancedproductiontechnology,providesthetechnicalsupportforJapanseconomicdevelopment.EconomicdiplomacyforJapanwinsthehugeeconomicinterests,andpromotestherapidriseforJapan’seconomyinthepost-war.ViewingonrelationshipbetweenJapan’seconomicdiplomacyanditseconomicriseinthepostwaristofullyunderstandtheimportanteffec
