AbstractIn the low-carbon background, low-carbon transformation becomes the inevitable choice of urban sustainable development. This paper mainly studies include the following content: (1)The data about the economic development of Lanzhou, energy consumption and green area is adopted to estimate carbon emissions, main energy carbon emissions, carbon emissions intensity and ecological pressure through the method of carbon emissions for the periods 2000-2009. The results show that:①Energy consumption of Lanzhou city carbon emissions showed a trend ofincreasing year by year from the 2000-2009. The carbon emission increased from786.06 ten thousand tons in 2000 to 1399.134 ten thousand tons in 2009. Moreover, carbon emission of coal consumption is the main factor, then is crude oil and Natural gas minimum proportion. ②Carbon emission intensity fluctuated from 2000 to 2009and showed a trend of decline since 2001.Overall, it decreased form 2.214t/ten thousand yuan in 2000 to 1.511t/ten thousand yuan in 2009. ③Carbon emissions ecological pressure decreased from 627.88 in 2000 to 394.67 in 2009. (2) In this paper,the influence of the main factors of Lanzhou city carbon emissions is analyzed; this article takes the historical data from 2000 to 2009 for the sample to analyze the correlation between every effect factors and carbon emission from energy consumption, to identify the correlation strength between that when the factors effect alone. And then, a model named stochastic impacts by regression on population, affluence, and technology (STIRPAT) was built ,and principal component regression was used to analyze the model, the results show that urbanization level, economic scale, household consumption level, population scale and industrial structure haveimportant driving function to carbon emission from energy consumption ， andeconomic scale become the most important factor.
