AbstractFlexibleoperation,andlowfrictiontorqueareadvantagesofballbearings,sotheyhasawiderangeofapplications,andisalsocommoninthespaceagency.Onlyreasonablelubricationwasestablished,thoseadvantagesexisted,otherwisethefrictiontorqueiseasytobecomelarge,unstableandbearingsevenbestuck.Thevacuumenvironmentinspacemakeslubricationverydifficult.Soitisnecessarytostudythefrictiontorqueofballbearingsinvacuum.Athomeandforeign,therearemanyresearchesaboutSpacetribologicalandballbearingfrictiontorque,butlittleaboutthefrictiontorqueofballbearingsusedinspacemechanism.Inthiskindofcase,thisarticledoesthefollowingworks.Thevacuumanddifferenttemperatureenvironmentasrequiredisprovidedbysettingupthevacuumfrictionexperimentsystem.Lubricationmethodofspaceisdiscussed.SelecttingMoS2-sputteredfilm,PFPE(perfluoropolyethers)greaseandtheircombinationusedaslubrication,andthecaseofnolubricationasthecontrastgroup.Analysingtheinfluenceofspaceenvironmentuponthefrictiontorqueofballbearings,choosingvacuumandtemperatureaskeyfactors,andspeed,loadasadditionalfactors,testthefrictiontorqueofballbearing,analysetheoffrictionandwear.Theexperimentsaboutthefrictiontorqueofballbearinghavebeendone.Theresultsshowthat:forballbearingstreatedwithMoS2-sputteredfilm,thefrictiontorqueissmallandstable,notsensitivetotemperature,firstagrowththenadecreasewiththeincreasedspeed,lineargrowthwithload,muchsmallerinvacuumthanatmosphere;forballbearingswithoutlubrication,thefrictiontorqueisbiggerandmoreunstable,usuallynotsensitivetotemperatureandspeed,butincreasesharplyastemperatureorspeedgethighenough,usuallylineargrowthwithload,butSharplyincreaseasloadisbiggerenoughinvacuum;ForballbearingslubricatedbyPFPEgrease,startfrictiontorqueislarge,andhasalongadjustperiod.Frictiontorquehasacontinueddecreasewiththeincreaseoftemperature,firstaslightdecreasethenalineargrowthwiththeincreaseofload,firstagrowththenadecreasewiththeincreasedspeed.Thefrictiontorqueislargerinvacuumthantheatmosphere.ForballbearingslubricatedbymodifiedPFPEgrease,thefriction
