AbstractLandisthefoundationforhumanbeing’ssurvivalanddevelopment.Ithaseconomic,ecologicalandsocialbenefitsforhumanbeings.Withthedevelopmentandprogressofscienceandtechnology,populationgrowth,andpeoplesincreasinguseoflandresources,avarietyofconflictshavebecomemoreevident,andlandresourceshavebeenseriouslythreaten.Landownershipdisputes(usuallyknownasthelandownershipcontention)isveryprominentintodaysChinesesociety.InChinathereisabiggapbetweenhugepopulationandlandresources,sothereisatensionbetweenlandandpopulation.Landownershipdisputeshaveveryseriousconsequences:Firstly,Itaffectssocialstabilityandharmony.Landdisputesusuallyproducealargescaleeventandwillleadtomassevents,threateningthesecurityofpropertyandlife,seriouslyaffectingruralsocialstabilityandnationalunity.Secondly,itaffectstheestablishmentandimprovementofthelandmarket.Landownershipdisputesmakethepropertyrightsunclear,thereforeseriouslyhindertherationaluseofland.Today,landownershipdisputeshavebecomeasocialproblem,anditincreasinglydrawtheattentionofthecommunity,therefore,timelyandeffectiveresolutionoflandownershipdisputes,isofgreatpracticalsignificance.Inordertoestablishalandownershipdisputesettlementmechanism,thispaperappliesseveralmethodsuchasdocument,empiricalanalysis,casestudy.Themainfindingsofthepaperaresummarizedasfollows:（1）Inthispaper,Chinaslanddisputesandlandownershipdisputeswerediscussed,andaccordingtodifferentclassificationcriteria,landownershipdisputeswereclassified.BasedonthesurveyofhistoricalevolutionofChinaslandsystemandthecharacteristicsofthevariousstagesofownershipdispute,andapplyingrelevanttheories,theauthorpointsoutthatlandownershipdisputesariseduetochangesinlandpolicy,history,landlegislationconfusionandlackofcadastralmanagementandotherfactors.（2）Closelylookingintotheactualsituation,avarietyoflandownershipdisputeresolution’sconcepts(includingnegotiation,administrativemediation,administrativedecisions,administrativereconsiderationandadministrativelitigation),features,benefits,procedures,werefullyexa
