AbstractThe development of the city is a microcosm of the countrys modernization, China is currently in the process of rapid urbanization, the city rising also fully showing the Chinese socialist construction achievements. And in recent years, as our countrys Rise of Central China strategy ,large number of new central city emerged, In particular, Wuhan, which was Central city of middle of china but now is Transition to the National Center City, and its Pace of development has a very eye-catching. However, in the context of climate change, Due to the geographical conditions and the economic strength constraints, the vulnerability of climate change in central cities appeared gradually, and the further development of the city had a significant adverse impact .How to deal with the adverse effects of climate change has become an important issue in this cities. At present, the central cities is trying to change high carbon development model, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but because our country mainly dependent on fossil fuel resources and the time-lag effect of climate change, adaptation to climate change has become the cities top priority. In response to the increasing frequency of urban climate disasters and extreme weather, this paper argues that the central city should actively implement adaptation strategies, take effective measures to reduce the vulnerability of the city, building a climate resilient City.First of all, the paper describes the challenges of climate change on cities，and thenanalyzes the reasons that central cities have less ability to adapt. And that sprawl, degradation of adaptive capacity to adapt to the complexity, the lack of motivation and government action is the main factors that make the central cities low adapt ability to climate change, and from another aspect to outstanding the important of adaptation strategies.
