AbstractAsforlanguagelearners,havingagoodcommandofvocabularyisofgreatimportance,however,thegreatestdifficultyinforeignlanguagestudyliesinhowtolearnandmastervocabulary.Semanticnetwork,proposedbyAmericanpsychologistR.Quillianin1968,canbeusedtorepresentknowledgethroughinterconnectedelements.Vocabularylearningistheconnectionofpreviousknowledgetonewknowledge.Applyingthesemanticnetworktovocabularyteachingcanpresentthedynamicandnetworkeddevelopmentofvocabularyandincreasestudents’interestinvocabularylearning.However,fewstudiesadoptedthismethodandfewerstudiesfocusedonvocabularyteachinginseniorhighschools.ThepresentstudyfocusesonapplyingthesemanticnetworktotheseniorhighschoolEnglishvocabularyteaching,andexplorewhetherconstructingsemanticnetworkcanimproveseniorhighschoolstudents’vocabularylearning,andwhetherthismethodcanincreasestudents’interestinvocabularylearning.Thesubjectswere112studentsinBeizhenNo.3SeniorHighSchool;theywerefromtwoparallelclassesinGradeTwo,andonewasexperimentalgroupwhoweretaughtthroughsemanticnetwork,whiletheotherwascontrolgroupwhoweretaughtinthetraditionalway.Testsandquestionnaireweretheinstrumentsadoptedinthepresentstudy.ThedatafromthetestsandquestionnairewereanalyzedbythesoftwareSPSS17.0.Theresearchfindingsshowthatconstructingsemanticnetworkinatextcanimprovehighschoolstudents’vocabularylearning,aswellastheirinterestinvocabularylearning.Severalpedagogicalimplicationsandsuggestionsareproposedintheend.KeyWords:Semanticnetwork,vocabularyteaching,seniorhighschoolstudents摘要对语言学习者来说,词汇的掌握是十分重要的。然而,外语学习的最大难题就是如何学习和掌握词汇。语义网络由美国心理学家奎廉在1968年提出,他认为语义网络可以通过相互联系的概念来展示知识。词汇学习是新旧知识的连接,把语义网络应用到词汇教学中不但能够展示词汇动态化、网络化的发展过程,还能够提高学生学习词汇的兴趣。然而,采用这种方法的研究为数不多,在高中英语词汇教学中的应用就更少了,所以本研究致力于把语义网络应用到高中英语词汇教学中,探究学生的词汇学习是否提高,他们学习词汇的兴趣是否提高。受试者为北镇第三高级中学的112名学生,他们来自二年级的两个平行班。一个作为实验组,采用构建语义网络的方法来学习词汇,一个作为控制组,仍采用传统的方法来学习词汇。本研究所用的工具有测试和问卷,所收集的数据通过统计软件SPSS17.0分析。研究结果显示在文章中构建词汇的语义网络能够促进高中生的词汇学习并能提高他们的词汇学习兴趣。通过本研究,还可以获得一些教学的启示及对未来研究者的建议。关键字:语义网络,词汇教学,高中生ContentsAcknowledgements…………………………………………………
