AbstractMetamaterials is a kind of artificial materials which can achieve special electromagnetic property that usually do not exist. Unlike traditional materials ，Metamaterials is also known as Left-Handed materials cause its unusual way in electromagnetic wave conduction which follow Left-Handed rules. In recent years, the left - handed draw more and more attention cause its unique nature properties and has been studied and applied in a growing number of areas.This article introduces a kind of Left-Handed Metamaterial based on Composite Right/Left-Handed Transmission Line approach, meanwhile proved practicability for the material to build up tiny filtering structure both in simulation and experimental ways.The first two chapters give back ground information about Left-Handed material. And then, chapter three focuses on the transmission line theory and analysis its practicability to achieve left-handed material characteristics. Chapter four provides an progress overview in the field of the left-handed material and submit two new equilibrium structure. The First design is a more compact interdigital based on former version designed by pioneer. The structure achieved balanced condition by inching the structural parameter. The other one arrange the U-shaped copper in pale and proved its Left-Handed property by simulation. After that, this article reforming the design and get a new broadband filtering structure. In chapter five, the article combines these two structures into a band - pass filter and adjust its machining quality according to port design. The experiment results coincide simulation which proves the Left-Handed material base on Composite Right/Left-Handed Transmission Line method achieves a good filtering performance.At last, this article summarizes the issues during the on simulation and actual processing period and make a prospect on the development of left-handed materials.Keyword: microwave, metamaterial, composite right/left handed transmiss
