Compared with merchant vessel new building, the construction of drilling rig should have high technology, more risk and more investment, meanwhile shipyard must overcome the difficult for systems integration, offshore procedure, project schedule control, in addition to have strong capacity for engineering, procurement and construction. Due to the current financial crisis, shipyard should also have capacity for financing. For the purpose of successful construction Drilling Rig, shipyard must reinforce the project risk management. In order to prevent and control the project risk and reduce the cost of risk impact, improve quality and shipyard competence, studying offshore construction rig management is becoming more and more important. This thesis studies on drilling rig construction project, on the basis of basic theories of risk management, and drilling rig construction, analyzes the risk during construction of drilling rig, studies the identification and valuation of common risk, such as market risk, engineering risk, procurement risk, construction risk, contract risk etc., sets up the model of Project risk Management for drilling rig construction. .
