HP StorageWorks 1510i Modular Smart Array - Troubleshooting In this document: Overview Controller Display Controller LEDs Controller Display Messages LED Information LCD Message Descriptions Overview This document provides information for troubleshooting the HP StorageWorks MSA1510i. Controller Display Each array controller in an MSA1510i contains an integrated Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). This module is used for displaying informational and error messages, showing the status of the module, and for providing input when required. Traditional Power-On Self-Test (POST) messages issued by PCI-based array controllers have been combined with runtime event notification messages to create a new set of controller display messages. The display module consists of the following components: A two line, twenty column display text display window Four navigation buttons arranged in a circular “pie” shape Two status indicator lights The display module operates in three different modes: Display mode User input mode Management mode To enter management mode: When the LCD is idle, press the Right navigation button to open the menu. Use the Up and Down navigation buttons to highlight an item, and then use the Right navigation button to select it. (The Left navigation button moves back.) To exit the menu system, navigate down to the bottom of the root menu and select Exit. When editing data in management mode such as an IP address, or a Yes/No prompt, the buttons work as follows: Up/Down-Scroll through allowed options. Right-Move to next item (or wrap-around to the first message if the last item). Left-Accept input. When the LCD is displaying a message or non-editable item, pressing any button will return back to the menu. There may be a slight delay before the menu re-appears.
