This novel mainly describes the life of Scarlett who is Tara farmer’s daughter around the American Civil War. Scarlet is one of the impressive images in world literature. Her charm lies in the sprit of rebellion. This article aims at commenting on Scarlett’s burning rebellion against traditional civilization, life style, and the ideas of marriage. Also, it analyses the causes of her rebellion and the significance of her rebellious spirit.
