However, a lot of classical works have been rewritten into a great variety of versions such as the children’s version, the pocket version and the humorous version. The making of a great variety of versions of classical works can be attributed to the following reasons. Firstly, some works are too difficult to understand so that editors want to have it rewritten in a simple way to meet the demands of readers. Secondly, there is something in ancient works that seems improper in today’s society so that it has to be deleted. Besides, some writers rewrite great works just for fames and gains. There might be other reasons of course. This practice, in my opinion, has serious negative influence. Firstly, when you delete something in the works, you may delete the thought of the writer as well. Secondly, this practice may misguide readers. Most importantly, more and more writers will try rewriting great works out of commercial purposes and this will greatly damage the protection of ancient great works. That is terrible indeed. In short, we should say no to the rewriting of great works. I hope the government places a total ban on this endeavor/behavior.
