Teaching Material Analysis （一）Material Analysis The content is the seventh unit of Book two. This is a reading text from the comprehensive reading , which talks about Thanksgiving Day.This topic is closely related to the students’ daily life. The purpose is to get some knowledge about Thanksgiving Day, including its history, ways of celebration. Through learning, it can improve their reading and writing abilities. This passage plays a very important role in the book. （二）Teaching Aims Knowledge Objectives： 1.Understanding the text and use some useful phrases and words. 2.Getting some knowledge about Thanksgiving Day,including its history,ways of celebration. Ability Objectives: 1.To develop the students’ abilities of reading skills. 2.Putting language study into oral practising. 3.Connecting knowledge with daily life. Moral Objectives: 1.Arouse students’ interests of learning English. 2.Learning the importance of thanks and learn to say thanks to others. （三）Teaching Important Points 1.Understanding the text and use some useful phrases and words. 2.Train the students ’ reading skills. （四）Teaching Difficult Points Ⅱ. Students’ Situation Students in vocational school are very poor in English. Most of them are not interested in it. It is very difficult for them to study English. So, we should arouse their interests and ajust their activities first. As for this, I plan to present the lesson through some vivid pictures, simple activities or game.And second, the students don’t have large vocabulary.
