Teaching aims and demands: 1. (1) Learn the words of rooms in homes: bedroom, kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom (2) Learn other new words ： garden, second, floor 2. (1) Learn some prepositions of position: in, on, next to (2) Learn the structure of“There be”. There is a study next to my bedroom. There is a sofa, a desk, some books and so on. There are two bedrooms and a study on the second floor. Ⅱ. Teaching aids: Flash and PPT. Ⅲ. Teaching steps: Step 1 Review Review the present continuous tense and learn some new words. T: Boys and girls. What’s he doing? Ss: He is working on the computer. T: Where is working , do you know? Ss: In the study. T: Yes. He is working in the study. ................ Step 2 Presentation 1 .T: What do you do in the living room? Ss: We watch TV in it. T: Where’s the living room ? Ss: It’s next to the bedroom. T: Look at the picture. Then listen and match the words or phrases with the places. Have students listen and match,then check the answers. T: In the picture, there is a study on the second floor. And there are two bedrooms on the second floor. Work in pairs. Have students describe the picture in 2a with the following structures. This is a nice home.
