Costumes of all these dynasties with their distinctive features have attracted the worldwide attention. It is extremely difficult to collect the ancient costumes. Therefore, pattern designs of these costumes are all copied from historical records. The first one in sight is the crown costume worn by the Emperor of the Zhou Dynasty. Since the Zhou Dynasty, China has established a complete costume system. Crown costume is the name for an ancient ceremonial robe and was worn by the emperors and vassals at the time. Twelve pattern designs on the robes represented the twelve morals that an emperor were expected to have.
