AbstractDieselengineneedsstrictrequirementofthematchingamongfuelinjection,airandchamber.Theairadmissionfitornotisoneofthekeyfactorswhichdecidethequalityofmixedgasformationandthecombustionprocess.Theamountofairenteringthecylinderandflowconditioncausedbyintakepassageinfluencethepowerandtheeconomyaswellastheemissionsofthedieselengineverymuch.Inthisthesis,theairmovementinthecylindergeneratedbyhelicalintakepassagewasstudiedbymeansofCFD.Thetraditionalmethodusedtostudydieselengineintakeairflowcharacteristicsistomakeexperimentonthesteady-flowintakepassagetestbench.Usingtherelationshipbetweenswirlrationandsimulatedenginerpmestablishedinthetesttokentheintakeairmovement.Thismethodhassomeshortcomings,suchaslowerprecision,dissimilitudeofthetestresultmadebydifferenttestbench,anddifficultytotestlocalairflowintheintakepassageandthecylinder.Themulti-dimensionalnumericalsimulationisabletodetaileddescribethelocalairmovementintheintakepassageandcylinder,sothatitbecomesaveryimportantmethodtostudydieselengineintakeairmovement.Inthisthesis,theintakepassage-valve-cylinderthree-dimensionalmodeloftheWD615.67AdieselenginewasbuiltbyCATIAsoftware.Inthemodelconstruction,consideringtherelationshipbetweencrankangleandcamshaftangle,thepistonpositionsatdifferentvalveliftswerecalculated,andsomemodelswereconstructed.ThesurfaceandmeshesgridofthemodelwereobtainedbymeansofPRO-SURFandPRO-AM.Inthestudyofairmovement,theRNGK-εturbulencemodel,finitevolumemethod,unstructuredmeshandclosingexperimentalstateboundaryconditionwereused,andthethree-dimensionalstablestateflowinganalyseswereestablishedbymeansoflarge-scalefluidsoftwareSTAR-CD.Accordingtothesimulationresults,thegreatestmomentofvalveliftcylinderfluidvelocity,pressuredistributionanditschangerulewereanalyzedbasedontheratedrotatingspeed.Analysiswasalsodoneforincylinderfluidvelocity,pressuredistributionanditschangeruleondifferentvalveliftpositions.Theflowfieldsunderthemaximumtorqueandtheratedrotatingspeedwerecomparedtoanalyzetheinfluencefordifferentrotatingsp
