Abstract Constructivism hold this view that knowledge is obtained through Meaning Construction, with the help of others(including teachers and partners ),and also necessary study material, instead of teaching. Astin has also come to view the purpose of higher education as one of talent development. Based on his own research, and consistent with Pace’s work on the quality of student effort. Astin proposed a “theory of involvement” to explain the dynamics of how students change or develop, that is student involvement. G.Kuh also assume of the contributions of out-of-class experiences to valued outcomes of postsecondary education. Based on this,the study has probed into what the students benefits from the experience in the Association of Student Journalist of HUST and how the benefits form. And then discuss and give suggestions. The study chooses excellent association mates and teachers of the Association of Student Journalist of HUST as a research objects. With depth interview to collect information,and then analyses, induces, integrates the information by the way of coding of the grounded theory. The study’s main discovery is the model named “undergraduates involvement out of class” ,and the discussion as follows: (1) The model named undergraduates involvement out of class,which based on the information’s analysis, induction and integration. The model includes five parts: causal conditions,center phenomenon, strategies, intervening conditions context, and results. (2) The study analyses and discusses the factors of promoting university undergraduates involvement which includes active practice and the association support. (3) Put forward some suggestions for university students and universities. To the university students, the suggestions includes these: get education truth through active practice;obtain success through meaningful activities; promote mutual learning.
