During this experimental teaching period, I have accumulated fruitful and useful experience on listening teaching.Last but not least, I want to give my genuine thanks to my dear parents and friends, who have provided me with their support, endless love and great consolation.iiiiAbstractIt has been almost 40 years since Becker put forward lexical chunk theory in 1975. In comparison with the abroad, the related researches which carried out at home were not very early, but many great findings have been worked out in both theory and practice. Traditionally, the learning of foreign language is divided into vocabulary and grammar. Grammar is the frame, lexis is fillers. However, in accordance with the increasing development of cognitive psychology and lexical approach, the learning of vocabulary is traditional by no means conducted in an isolated way as in word list, but is always carried out through lexical chunks. During language production, lexical chunk is a pre-stored multiword unit for instant retrieval without binding isolated words into grammatical frames. It enhances the accuracy and fluency of language production, and easing the burden of language production. On this account, lexical chunks as lexical approach?s core which is considered as a new insight into teaching English news listening.
