AbstractAstheshortageofthetalentreserveinagriculturehasbecomeincreasinglyprominent,“whowillbeengagedinagriculturalproduction”isanurgentproblemdemandingpromptsolution.Itisestimatedthatcultivatingagriculturalstudentsinvocationalcollegesisanindispensablemethodinthereserveofagriculturaltalents,andtheyshallplayimportantrolesinagricultureinfuture.Althoughdomesticandforeignscholarshaveexploredalotontheissuestatedaboveandgainedfruitfuloutcomes,therearesomedeficienciesinthoseresearches.Forinstance,thesestudiesaremainlytheoretical-orientedonesfocusingonthefactorsrelatingwithcareerchoicesamongvocationalcollegestudents,whilethereisfewempiricalstudyonthecareerintentionsofagriculturalstudentsinvocationalcolleges.Therefore,studyingthestudents’intentioninbecomingprofessionalfarmersisofprofoundtheoreticalandpracticalsignificance.Theresearchobjectofthispaperistheoccupationalintentionofagriculturalstudentsinvocationalcolleges.Therearethreeresearchpurposes:first,enquiringintothevocationalagriculturalstudent’swillingnesstobecomeprofessionalfarmers;second,determiningthefactorelements(bothinobjectiveandsubjective,internalandexternal)whichmayinfluencethestudent’scareerintentions;third,basedontheprevioustworesearchpurposes,figuringoutcorrespondingandfeasibleguidancemechanismstoencouragemorestudenttobemorewillingtoengageinagricultureinthefuture.Intermsofresearchmethodology,thisstudymainlyadoptedthemethodofquestionnaireinvestigation,in-depthinterviewandliteraturestudy.Throughadoptingstratifiedrandomizedclustersamplingmethod,theauthorchosetwoagriculturalvocationalcollegesinJiangxiProvinceasfieldworksites.Besides,thesamplingframecoversplantprotection,animalhusbandry,aquaculture,Chineseherbalmedicinecultivation,gardenandotheragriculturalmajors.Finally,400questionnaireswerecompletedand347ofthemarevalid,also,fivein-depthinterviewsamongteachersandstudentswereconductedduringthepilotstudy.Theresearchroutineofthispaperisasfollows:First,basedontherationalpersonhypothesisunderthecompleteinformation,this
