Module 8 Different habits
Unit 1 Tony always likes birthday parties
Ⅰ. Teaching aims:
To get to know the adverbs of frequency.
To understand the conversation involving “Tony’s birthday”
To be able to pronounce the third person singular endings
To be able to describe what people do on their birthday

Ⅲ. Teaching plans:
Step 1. Lead-in
Show Ss the word “birthday” first, then talk about it with Ss and ask them to imagine if they want to have a birthday party, what will they be prepare for ?
We may begin like this:
“ Hello, boys and girls. Today is Tony’s birthday, let’s help him do something for it. ….”
Step 2. Preparation
Introduce the adverbs of frequency , we may begin like this: “ Here is some information about four boys and girls and what they do in the evening. Daming watches TV on Monday evening. …. On Sunday evening. So he always watches TV , he watches TV every day. …” Then show the chart about it.
Step 3.Listen and check what people usually do on their birthday.
Make sure the students understand the symbols they must use to complete the chart.
Call back the answer from the whole class and complete a chart on the board as they tell you.
Step 4. .Listen and read
After listening to the record, ask the students to check the true sentences ( activity 5), and correct the false sentences. Then call back the answers in a whole-class setting.
Step 5. Make up or rewrite some sentences
Use the verbs in activity 3 to help them make up or rewrite sentences.
Step 6. Practice
Ask the students to write down something about birthday. Then ask some of them to show their writings. It can help them to describe what the people do on their birthday.
Ⅳ.Writing on the blackboard
Key words: always, usually, often, never, different, habit, cake, card, present, party, get
Key sentences: Tony always likes parties./ Betty usually has a party.
