AbstractAtthepresentstage,theissuesofenvironmentandenergyhavebecomethetwomajorpartsofglobalconcern.Moreandmoreattentionhasbeenpaidtosolarenergy,whichisacleanandrenewableenergy.Butthebiggestdrawbackisthatthesolarenergyisnotcontinuous.Therefore,thedesignoftheheatstoragesystemhasplayedaveryimportantroleinthedevelopmentandapplicationofsolarpowerplants.Thispaperfocusesondesigningthesensibleheatstoragesystemforsolarthermalpowerplant.Thedesignisdividedintothreemajorparts.Firstly,thispaperclassifiedtheheatstoragesystemdependingontheregenerativestructureandrunmediaofthesystem,andexpoundedtheoperatingcharacteristicsandtheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofthevarioussystems.Andthencomparedtheeconomyofthesolarpowerstationinoilandsaltmediumandmoltensaltmedium.Bycalculatingandcomparingofthecostofheatstoragesystemandcollectorfieldintwopowerstations.Weultimatelydrawacurveofproportion:thepuresaltpowerplant’seconomyisbetterwhentheratioofthecostofcollectorfieldinpuresaltpowerplantandoilsaltpowerplantisunderthecurve.Secondly,theoptimaldesignofheatstoragetank.Forasolarpowerplantwithconstantoperatingparameters,thevolumeofheatstoragetankisaconstanttoo.Howeverwiththeheightchangedinthetank,allpartofthestructurewillchange.Therefore,thepapersettheheightoftheheatstoragetankasavariable.Thenestablishthestructuralmodeloftheheatstoragesystem.Andtooptimizethedesignoftheheatstoragetankdependingonfees.Atlast,wecalculatea50MWsolarpowerplantasaexample,optimizethedesignofheatstoragesystem,finallyconcludedtheoptimalstructureoftheheatstoragesystem.Finally,aoil-saltexchangerfortheheatstoragesystemisdesigned.Theroleoftheoil-saltheatexchangerisconvertenergybetweenheatcarrierfluidandheatstoragemedium.Dependingonthenatureoftheheatexchanger,selectthetypeofshellandtubeheatexchanger,theworkoftheheatexchangeristoruntwoheatexchangersinseries.Throughaseriesofcalculatingandcomparing.Finallythe50MWsolarpowerplantisconcluded.Whenusingthetwotankmoltensaltheatstoragesystem,thebestheightoftheheatstoragetankis13.2m.Theheatexchang
