The distribution character of Chinas energy and load center makes extreme distance and large capacity of power transmission become inevitable. Then UHV dc transmission arises at the historic moment. Hardware fittings is an important link in UHV dc transmission projects, the carrying capacity, corona proof, connecting Angle, force requirements, etc must be considered when the hardware fittings run. Since Hardware fittings run under the condition of UHV, the experimental measurement costs are high. Finite element technology can simulate true environment, and improve the efficiency of experiments. This article makes finite element simulation for typical hardware fittings under ±800kV voltage class. The static field, electric field and temperature field distribution of typical connection hardware fittings - two-way adjustable hardware fittings are calculated. And electro-thermal coupling calculation for the two-way and three-way hardware fittings has been done. Use instantaneous voltage load method to calculate temperature distribution. Calculation results show that under the current voltage class, the surface field strength of hardware fittings conform to the requirements of the dc transmission electric field control and the temperature of hardware fittings raise in the allowed range. Calculation provides reliable support for the optimization of hardware fittings design, having important guiding significance. Calculate electric field distribution for the Equalizing ring, shielding the ball hardware fittings. The calculation results show that shielding the ball is in line with the corona design requirements.
