In accordance with the requirements of Management Regulations for Quality of Construction Engineering issued by the State Council and the paper of Jian Biao No. [2000] 31 of our ministry, we, together with other relevant departments, have prepared the Compulsory Provisions of Engineering Construction Standards (hereinafter referred to as CP). CP includes sections of Urban and Rural Engineering, Urban Construction, Building, Industrial Construction, Water Conservation Engineering, Power Engineering, Information Engineering, Water Transportation Engineering, Highway Engineering, Railway Engineering, Petroleum and Chemical Construction Engineering, Mining Engineering, People’s Air Defense Engineering, Broadcasting, Film and TV Engineering and Civil Aviation Airport Engineering etc.. The contents of CP, among existing State and professional standards for engineering construction, directly concern to the safety of people’s life, property and health, environment protection and other public interests. It also has taken into account of the requirements for economic returns and social benefits. All provisions in CP must be strictly implemented.
