Accumulated experiments have proved that CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells play an important role in the main- tenance of peripheral immune tolerance, and the decrease or the afunction of them has a correla- tion with the occurrence of autoimmune disease. It can actively suppress the activation of T cells in autoimmunity by cell contact dependent mechanism and inhibitory cytokines, maintain the immune tolerance, and prevent the occurrence of autoimmune disease.
