Teaching Materials: Unit4 mainly talks about different farms of China and America. At the same time, it talks about the life in the country and in the city. In the course of teaching, adjectives and adverbs are widely used. This lesson is the third one of Unit 4, it’s mainly about the comparison of adjectives and adverbs.
Students’ circs: It’s easy to attract the students’ attention and arouse the enthusiasm of study, because the students are interested in this kind of topic. But the comparison of adjectives and adverbs is a little difficult, we must pay attention to using the multimedia and having the students compare, discuss and practise the contents.
Teacher’s role: In the course of teaching, the teacher should promote, help and lead the students.
Teaching aims and demands:
1.Intellect aims: To revise and use the comparative and superlative forms of adjectives.
To learn and practise the comparative and superlative forms of adverbs.
To read and complete the passage about Katy and Sandy using the comparison of adjectives and adverbs.
2.Ability aims: To train the students to grasp and use the good technique of learning English grammars, that is to say, the students should grasp and use English grammars by different ways of practising .
3.Moral education aims: To teach the students to love the life in the country and working in the fields through learning this lesson.
Teaching focal and difficult points:
Get the students to practise the comparison of adjectives and adverbs carefully. Get the students to grasp how to differ the comparison between adjectives and adverbs. Make the students know when to use “more” or “most” before adjectives and adverbs.
