ITIE2008 Paper Abstracts Information Technology in Education: Connecting Rural Communities 信息技术与教育： 连通农村社区 1 Foreword The organizing committee of ITIE2008 welcomes distinguished guests, scholars, librarians and educators from different parts of the world. We would also like to thank them for their enthusiastic support and contributions to the success of this conference. As we are beginning the 21st century, information technology plays an increasingly important role in our communities. The disparity of resources contributing to the digital divide between the urban and rural communities is a serious concern. This conference makes possible the exchanges of scholarship, experiences and technology knowhow so that the fusion of the best can emerge, be developed, replicated and transferred where needed.
