Abs Abstract ii万方数据 ii 万方数据 Abstract Lacking of solution for processing and transmiting large capacity spatial data in the network is one of the main problems existing in WebGIS application. Some WebGIS systems adopt the method of showing raster graphics in the client. In order to respond to the request of unlimited zoom scale, this method has to produce pictures and send them to the client frequently, aggravating the burden of network transmition. Some WebGIS systems install vector graphical displaying plug-in of GIS platform in the client, which reduces burden of network but increases difficulty of developing greatly. And this kind of WebGIS relies on GIS platform excessively, doesn’t adapt to the development trend of OpenGIS. This thesis has carried on the research of WebGIS data processing technology. The main achievements of research work are as follows, (1) Studies adopting SVG based on XML standard to show maps on the client, reduces data transmission between the server and the client; Avoids using the plug-in of GIS platform, reduces the difficulty of developing; Following the development goal of OGC, obtains the data with the thought of “Service Oriented”, data interchanging is realized through Web Service, which reduces the systematic dependence on GIS platform and improves the systematic expansibility. (2) Develops an electronic map prototype system under .NET platform. According to the job requirements for the general electronic map, the system designs more intact interactive function in the client. This system has the characteristics that of simple structure, fewer codes, easy realizing and popularizing. (3) Uses Smart Client technology to improve working mode of the prototype system of electronic map, reduces the reliance on the server of client so as to obtain more ideal data processing performance.
