Abs Abstract The paper is the translation report of the selection from Article 46 to Article 53, The Translation Report for Restatement of the Law (2nd edition). Compiled by American Law Institute, collectedly and editingly, the legal principles and the laws of many judicial precedents were codified to this book in accordance with their use values and legal validities. Many laws and regulations, the experts’ comments and illustrations were covered by The Translation Report for Restatement of the Law (2nd edition), it was of high value for reference and study for juridical practitioners in their law practice, it provided authoritative materials for legal English learners. Now there are several incomplete Chinese editions of Restatement of the Law, Second, Contracts. Our translation group’s version is one of the most complete and detailed one in China. This report includes four chapters. Chapter 1 indicates the purpose and significance of this translation project. Chapter 2 introduces the background. Chapter 3 lists several translation methods and skills aiming at key points and difficulties during the translation process. Chapter 4 is a conclusion. In chapter 4, the author summarizes experiences and limitation of the translation.
