PAGE PAGE VI Abstract In the early 20th century, there emerged an integrated drama form in Britain and American, namely, musical, which included a variety of stage performing arts, it integrated singing, dance and drama. Musical had the features of comprehensiveness, entertainment, popularity and modernity. In the 1980s, musical was introduced to China, and it spreaded across China quickly with its unique artistic charm. Chinese original musical has went through four stages, namely, germination, precipitation, exploration and innovation stage, at this time, Chinas musical has already appeared a vibrant spectacle, meanwhile it also strives for unceasing progress and development. Chinas military musical is an important branch of Chinas original musical, as it integrates the entertainment of musical and political factor of military drama, therefore the military musical has extraordinary artistic charm and cultural connotation. This paper traces the origin of musical and explores the concept definition and characteristics of musical; and try to talk about musical development and study of status quo in China. The focus of this paper is based on the perspective of the creation background with two Chinese original musical Jade bird military depot and Equatorial rain , the art image shaping of heroine and the analysis on the classical aria, then this paper conducts the analysis about the artistic features of military musical; from the main vocal singing method of the heroine in the two musical, that is, the professional point of view of folk style singing, this paper discusses the role and meaning of national vocal music in Chinas musical.
