Before writing this thesis, he helped me to clear my mind and provided me with inspirations. In the process of writing this thesis, he instructs me patiently whenever I encounter problems. After I finished my thesis, he spends much time revising my thesis and modifying it. Without his encouragement and help, I am unable to finish my thesis. Secondly, I want to thank teachers for teaching me post-graduate subjects. During these three years, they not only give me many instructions but also inspire me a lot. The instructions they give me will also benefit me a lot for the rest of my life. At last, my roommates and classmates also helped me a lot when I wrote my thesis, especially when my gathering was not enough. They gave me many suggestions and helped me to collect related information. It would be impossible to complete my thesis if they didn’t help me. I Abstract Oscar Wilde is the leader of the Aesthetic Movement in the late 19th century in England. He believes that art is art and it has nothing to do with such factors as morality. Some people hold the view that Wilde’s works are created without any moral depth or significant connotations. In fact, exploring Oscar Wilde’s works can’t be confined rigidly to his artistic views and should be combined with his texts. So his fairy tales should be explored in detail. Oscar Wilde writes only two volumes of fairy tales—The Happy Prince and Other Tales, and The House of Pomegranates.
