Abstract Girls ′ education is a topic universally concerned by developing countries. Today′s little girls will be tomorrow′s women; little girls nowadays will be future ′s mothers. Little girls become women who are not only the future builders of a country, and little girls become mothers who conceive the hope of a country and nation. Girls′problem is not only the problem of children, but also the social problem. Girls′living and development is the basis of a society. The growth of one generation′s little girls will concern the qualities of two generations and concern sustainable development of a country and the whole society. The research is aimed at: firstly, study the problems of girls′ education of the Dongxiang Nationality in history and at present; secondly, study the reasons of the long existing problems of girls′education of the Dongxiang Nationality; thirdly, have a cultural interpretation of the anthropological phenomenon; fourthly, based on discipline background, put forward countermeasures and suggestions. The thesis takes the case of the Dongxiang Nationality in B Village of Dongxiang County in Gansu Province, adopts the research methods such as documentary method, fieldwork, participant observation, depth interview etc, has a profound and systematical analysis of the background, present situation, existing problems and reasons of the girls′ education of the Dongxiang Nationality in Dongxiang Region, and also puts forward some concrete countermeasures and suggestions. Since 1990s, the academic cycle has already done a large amount of investigation, experiments and researches of the situation of girls ′ education in many poor regions of our country including Dongxiang Area, which plays an important role in contributing to the development of girls′ education in vast poor regions in western China.
