III III Abstract The article gives an explanation of the definition of imagery and imagery training ,its features、classes and status. The article also analyzes the feasibility and importance of the application of imagery training in piano teaching and play. The article argues that imagery training is an integrated process of auditory imagery, visual imagery and motor imagery, focusing on the operating mechanism of imagery training in piano performance and the methods and procedures of imagery training and comes to the conclusion that there are three important functions of imagery training in piano learning and performance. The article includes five parts. The first part is the argument about imagery and imagery training, including the definition of imagery and musical imagery 、the three features of imagery、 three classes of imagery and its important position. Based on piano play, the article discusses the definition of imagery training and four psychological theories for it. The second part discusses the function of imagery training in piano teaching, which is reflected mainly in the three aspects of audio、 vision and motion and embodied in the three levels of memory 、 control and imagination. In the third part, the author discusses the methods and procedures of the piano imagery training, including the four parts of auditory、 visual 、motor and imaginative imagery, with each having its three-step trainings for the purpose of a overall apprehension of imagery training. Part four is about teaching application 、 experimental operation 、 chart analysis 、 analogical reasoning and provides a comprehensive record of the process of the piano imagery training and concludes that it has an evident effect on piano teaching and play. The fifth part includes some attention to teachers in the imagery training, which is generalized as three fives and has great reference significance for piano teaching practice. 【Key Word】: imagery imagery training piano ply practice
