But the Mermaid didn’t have a soul, if only the fisherman spent away his soul, she could love him. Then the young fisherman turned to the Priest and the businessman, but was refused inexorably. He finally found the witch who promised to tell him the method to spend away the soul if he dances with her. He did and the witch gave him a little knife. The fisherman cut away his shadow which is actually the soul from his body with the knife. And he plunged into the sea with the Mermaid. So the soul sadly left without a heart. Every year the soul was back to the sea and called the fisherman. The first two years, the soul lured the fisherman by the Mirror of Wisdom and the world’s riches, but the fisherman refused, didn’t let the soul enter his body. The third year, the fisherman was lured by the girl danced with feet, and agreed the soul enter his body. They left the sea and on their way to find that girl. But the soul instigated the fisherman to do evils. The fisherman denounced the soul but couldn’t spend away the soul again. The fisherman repented, and was back to the sea and called to the Mermaid every day, but there was no answer. One day the surf sent the body of the Mermaid on the shore. The fisherman flung himself down beside it and kissed her mouth. And finally the fisherman died together with the Mermaid. In the morning the Priest saw the bodies, he didn’t bless for them.
