Abstract
A salubrious water circulation is a keypoint for improving the water condition and crisis. Slaughter-house wastewater is a common meat-packing wastewater and its characteristics are influenced by many factors, such as producing process, water quantity, waste disposal mode, and etc. The variation range of its characteristics is so wide and it is difficult to treat this type of wastewater, which may easily cause serious pollution. In order to protect the environment and to accelerate the development of slaughter, slaughter-house wastewater treatment has already been thought to be an important issue. The dissertation’s contents are shown as follows: biological aerated filter (BAF) was used to treat slaughter-house wastewater; the mechanism of purification and back-washing was studied in the two-stage BAF. The results can provide the references for engineering design and obtain the valueable information about the optimization of the processing parameters.
By considering the quality of slaughter-house wastewater, discharge standard, operation, management, and yield quantity of sludge, two wastewater treatment processes were compared. The main parts of the two processes were two-stage BAF and two-stage biological contact oxidation process (BCOP), respecitvely. The comparison of technology and equipment costs was conducted for deciding which one is the better process for treating Bei Da Huang meatpacking wastewater. The results indicated that two-stage BAF could be selected as better process for treating meatpacking wastewater because it’s higher pollutants (such as COD, BOD5, NH3-N, and etc) removal efficiencies.
The temperature of the meatpacking wastewater was 18-25℃ and the gas
water ratio of the first-stage BAF was 6:1. The aim of the study is to investigate the removal efficiencies of the two-stage BAF by changing the gas water ratio of the second-stage BAF with 3:1, 2:1 and 1:1. The results indicates that the removal efficiencies of pollutants are better
