Though there are some “fractures” in Amelia as Fielding’s last novel, Amelia also inherits predecessors’ creative experience, continues Fielding’s creative feature, for example, there are features of epic, humorous and optimistic contents, concerns about human nature and so on. In addition, there is dialectical and contradictory ideology in Amelia. On ideology, Fielding not only promotes empressement but also allows ambiguity to exist. On religion, Amelia believes in Christianity but Booth doubts Christianity. The different attitudes embody Fielding’s contradictory standpoint about Christianity.
