Family relationship is the most basic of interpersonal relationships in human society. Giving attention to family has been the traditional virtue of Chinese nation, consistently adhered to for thousands of years. With in the higher educational system, family education belongs to the scope of ideological and political education and basic quality education, which embodies the notion of people oriented education. The implementation of family education on college students and developing their consciousness of thanksgiving is of great significance to enhance the construction of ideology and morals, which can help to improve the timeliness of ideological and moral education, facilitate the development of students in all-round way, and strengthen their sense of responsibility to family, society and country. And what’s more, family education is an important part of socialist spiritual civilization, which means much to the construction of harmonious interpersonal relationships and the promotion of social stabilization. With the deepening of reform and opening-up and the development of socialist marketing economy, the truth is that some college students have little and even no love for their family members. This phenomenon has been caused by many factors, such as family, the negative influence of marketing economy, the impact of globalization and foreign cultures, the double-edged sword of science and technology and the growing pressure of competition. Among the factors, the weakening of family education is the key cause of college students’ deficiency of love for their family members.
