II II Abstract Distributed in 18 cities and counties which lie in Ganzhou of the southern Jiangxi and Ganzhou area (In ancient times, it was named Ganzhou state, Nanan state and Ningdu), the Gannan Hakka traditional dwelling is the vernacular architecture which was built in Ming and Qing dynasty and the relatively economically prosperous period of MingGuo dynasty. The colourful auspicious decoration art of Gannan Hakka traditional dwelling has great significance. It’s worth researching, passing down and keeping up .It’s an important part of research of Gannan Hakka traditional dwellings. This article will deserve and elaborate on art general situation, cultural significance, aesthetic characteristics and practical significance of Gannan Hakka traditional dwelling. The introduction mainly elaborates the significance and the current research situation of it .The chapter 1 and chapter 2 of the article has made a summary introduction of Gannan Hakka traditional dwelling ,and made classifications of auspicious decoration art for the sake of the following chapter . Chapter 3 is the main part of the body .It chiefly explores the cultural significance of auspicious decoration art about Gannan Hakka traditional dwelling through analysing the espects like its forms and funetions ,as well as describing the influences and reflections of auspicious decoration art of Gannan Hakka traditional dwelling from the community’s memories, Hakka ideologies and Fengshui theories .In the chapter 4, starting with the auspicious decoration art about Gannan Hakka traditional dwelling’s aesthetic characteristics as a research ,we find out that its auspicious decoration art takes on a compatible character of realism ,extensiveness and civilzing.
